5th April 2010 10:44 EST WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff.

Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded.

The military did not reveal how the Reuters staff were killed, and stated that they did not know how the children were injured.

After demands by Reuters, the incident was investigated and the U.S. military concluded that the actions of the soldiers were in accordance with the law of armed conflict and its own "Rules of Engagement".

Consequently, WikiLeaks has released the classified Rules of Engagement for 2006, 2007 and 2008, revealing these rules before, during, and after the killings.

Democratic Voters: 56/40

Everyone knows there's an enthusiasm gap. You don't even need a poll to tell you. You can feel it. On the one hand you've got very gunned up conservatives, who make up an even greater proportion of the diminished GOP. On the other you've got a mix of demoralized progressives and other Dems who feel like they got the job done in November 2008 and have checked out on politics ... at least for now.

This afternoon, Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) took to the Senate floor and basically made a pitch for the oil and gas industry. He said that to ensure “energy security,” the United States should increasingly “extract our own resources.” According to Inhofe, this solution would not only achieve energy independence, but it would also be pollution-free....

....Inhofe is an anti-science senator who thinks that global warming is “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.” Not only does oil and gas drilling release greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change, but they also release other dangerous pollutants that endanger American health. As the Natural Resources Defense Council wrote in a 2008 report:

Oil and gas drilling operations can release a number of hazardous pollutants, including hydrogen sulfide, benzene, toluene, formaldehyde, and diesel exhaust. Exposure is known to lead to short-term illnesses, cancer, or even death. For example, benzene and formaldehyde are both known to cause cancer, and diesel exhaust contains a number of compounds known to cause cancer. Emissions can come from oil and gas itself, chemical additives used in drilling, or fuel combustion.

Additionally, a 2003 University of California at Irvine study found that “oil and natural gas wells and refineries create regional air pollution levels in excess of some of the nation’s smoggiest urban areas.” In states like Wyoming and New Mexico, “oil and gas drilling operations are the second largest source of statewide carbon dioxide and methane emissions,” two key greenhouse gases.

Of course there are also oil spills; big oil spills put approximately 37 million gallons of oil into the world’s oceans each year. Several hundred million more gallons wind up in the waterways through other means, such as air pollution.

More drilling is Inhofe’s solution to all the nation’s economic problems. He even thought it would help low-income families pay their heating bills. Of course, actual solutions to achieving energy independence and creating jobs are ones that Inhofe is unwilling to even consider because they won’t benefit his friends in the gas and oil industry.

More than 600 self-professed climate skeptics are meeting in a Times Square hotel this week to challenge what has become a broad scientific and political consensus: that without big changes in energy choices, humans will dangerously heat up the planet.

Isn't it a good idea to cut back on the stuff that scientist say may be causing global warming anyway? Because the stuff we're talking about is not good for anyone in general. Reduction of those kinds of emissions shouldn't be blocked by anyone. It doesn't take long to see who is behind all the anti-global warming stuff. Its always the energy companies who would suffer the must by any conclusion that their products and practices may be big time contributors to the issue.

Home Schooled Kids Are Scary

Why the fuck is it that whenever there is some super genius kid that writes a book or does some other amazing thing they are home schooled. Thats the way it seems these days anyway. Today I watched a video of Jonathan Khrone, the 13 year old conservative firebrand who spoke at the CPAC last week. I mean this kid wrote a fucking book about conservatism that got him invited to speak in front of the entire party. I mean the GOP is really adrift right now but I didn't think it was that bad. This kid even wow'd serious nobody Joe the Plumber. If you watch this kids video clip please ignore the way he says "ideology." It's insanely annoying. Also try not to notice that he apparently hasn't been paying attention to what the GOP has been doing to people's individual rights for the last 8 years. He seems to think that the Right is all about letting people be. Good luck with that, kid.

Anyway I've seen all kinds of shit on TV of little kids who've written books or help the poor or do all this other super adult crap. My question is why aren't their parents teaching everyone's kids? You selfish fucks. No, instead you're teaching your kids how to be insane little over achievers who make everyone look shitty. Unless you teach them to be conservative firebrands. Then you just make them look like little future right-wing radio morons.

I am sick of kids fucking shit up. I don't just mean like kids under 10 but kids all the way through college. They ruin everything fun in this world. Why do they do it? Because they are just trying to have fun in ways they aren't supposed to. They ruin drugs for everyone by doing them on youtube.

They ruin porn with the idea that they might actually see porn is somehow enough to send congress into a lather. Heaven forbid that parents learn how to block adult adult content from their kids computers. Not that kids won't always want to look at porn. Sigh. Kids have always been sneaking a peek at their dads magazines or videos since that kind of material became available. .

They ruin video games by losing their shit over losing at them or losing access to them. I mean seriously. Kills lose their shit over video games in the craziest ways possible. The same goes for ruining movies and TV by acting out what they see and getting themselves killed.

The only thing they don't seem to be able to do is ruin gun ownership. I mean kids can kill each other, kill their dads, kills dad's girlfriend, They kill their fellow college classmates, whomever and somehow guns don't get regulated. Not to say that the kids don't get punished. They get to spend their lives in jail if they don't kill themselves early.

I fucking love the website Think Progress. It provides a great daily dose of stuff to get very very angry about.

Today's bummer is abstinence education. Why is that a bummer? Because its naive to think that just telling kids not to do it is going to stop them from fucking. You know why? This isn't the middle ages. You can't tell kids not to fuck because it goes against the lords will. You can't tell them not to bone because they might get pregnant and ruin their lives. Kids are going to fuck. They are exposed to sexy shit all the time. Over-sexualized young hot chicks are being blasted in everyones eye constantly. The saddest thing is that teen fucking is probably the best, least inhibited fucking of all fucking. Sure its dumb and you make all kinds of stupid decisions about who to sleep with but the dumbest decision you can make it to start fucking as a teen without the proper knowledge about how to protect yourself from getting diseases or pregnant.

Now no one wants their kid out there fucking like a rabbit all the live long day. Thats the basis of abstinence education as far as I can tell. They are like "If i don't tell my child about the upsides of safe casual sex and instead explain they shouldn't do it because of God or whatever then they will be less likely to go out and bone all the time." Well sorry to break it to you (which means I am not sorry) but that is bullshit. Nothing is worse than an ill informed teen using their broken knowledge base for fucking. I mean I have worked with teenagers. They tell each other the craziest bullshit about sex. I have been told "If you jump up and down after sex you won't get pregnant." That was probably made up by the guy you just fucked who wanted to see your hot teen body jumping around naked. "I heard you can douche with coca-cola after sex to kill the sperm." this is a great way to pour sugar in your vagina. Great idea.

Well more of the same. People keep forgetting that we are just pouring insane resources into the great sinkhole of the middle east. So the douchebag who took this picture and then sold it to English tabloids didn't just fuck Phelps for whatever he got paid. Nope. He got 8 of his "friends" arrested. 7 for possession of weed and one for distribution. The guy whose bong it was got busted trying to sell it on ebay for $100,000.

According to court records, the person associated with that address is a friend of Phelps and a professional poker player. He was charged with marijuana possession on Saturday.
The station is reporting that the eight people were arrested on charges related to marijuana. Phelps has not been charged.
